TLC Member T- Boz Is Filing Bankruptcy Again

The four-time Grammy winner and singer of the group TLC announced she is filing bankruptcy again. Yesterday it was announced that Tionne T- Boz Watkins filed Chapter 13 bankruptcy in a plan to repay all her debts which total $768,642. According to the bankruptcy filing, the contributing factors of the debt load are a mortgage to a 1.2M dollar home. According to bankruptcy court documents, other contributing factors included, insufficient monthly income and back child support owed for her daughter from rapper Mack 10. Ms. Watkins claimed that the rapper owes her $250,000 in child support payments. Back in February of 2011, T- Boz filed for bankruptcy in the Northern District of Georgia, U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
The bankruptcy court documents stated that Ms. Watkins receives $1200 a month in royalties from her multiplatinum albums and a monthly income of a $11,700. The documents stated that her monthly expenses totaled $8821 and the value of her assets totaled $1.7 million.
Hopefully, the 41-year-old will be able to exit the bankruptcy filing out of debt and be able to focus back on her singing career. Filing bankruptcy under Chapter 13 might just be what the doctor ordered. It will be interesting to see how the press handles this bankruptcy filing.
